Nurses for the Nations Reaches out to Central America
Guatemala is a land plagued by a broken spirit. Besides the dire poverty and devastating living conditions of the Mayan people, many children have either been abandoned due to violence or left homeless on the streets by their parents because they are so poor - their parents are unable to afford housing or feed them. Once the children are left on the streets and abandoned, they become victims of crime, and physical or sexual abuse. Most of the Mayan people suffer from illness due to filthy drinking water, poor nutrition and unsanitary conditions. Many of them are physically ‘blind’ from exposure to the sun and have cataracts. The Mayan people need breakthrough and healing with their living conditions, and healing and education to help restore the innocence of their children so that they may restore and transform their communities into centers of hope. They have many serious physical, medical, social and spiritual needs. Join with us to work among the Mayan people and help with your gifts of healing, hope and restoration to a land and people that are destitute.
