 Our Officers and Consultants

Mary McMahon RN M.B.A., MS BSN is President and Founder of Nurses for the Nations and has over twenty-five years of seasoned nursing practice, combined with management and business expertise to support Christian humanitarian causes that decrease human suffering and enhance macro and micro-economic efficiency in developing countries. Mary holds a Master’s in Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Mercer University, Stetson School of Business and Economics, a Master of Science Degree in health care management from RensselaerPolytechnic Institute, a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in nursing from Western Connecticut State University and an RN diploma from Misericordia School of Nursing. She is a clinical education specialist, nurse clinician and educator, certified in Basic Life Support and past advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor certified by the American Heart Association. Mary is also an inductee into Sigma Theta Tau, the National Honor Society of Nursing and advocate and public speaker for nursing both on a community, state and recent international level.

Mary has dedicated herself to the ‘vision and mission’ of Nurses for the Nations by establishing medical and nursing outreach professionals to assist the poorest of the poor: areas she calls ‘ground-zero;’  by forming teams that offer compassionate focused care, teaching, training and evangelizing, and by helping the indigenous empower there own communities in some of the most devastating remote village areas in the world; Africa, Central America and India.

Mary has served in Africa and the jungles of South America. She brought nursing care and treatment to the indigenous people tribes in the Amazon jungles of Columbia, Brazil and Peru. She organized and received over 1000 (one-thousand) pounds of medications worth over $120,000.00 dollars from national relief organizations to accompany and assist the team to South America. She has volunteered with the Rotary Club for shipment of overseas medical supplies to foreign countries and created ‘Project Give Back’  as a means of distributing food to the poor and needy in the Savannah Community. She is an active member of her Church and believes that non-profit organizations must take an active role in supporting the Church in the work of transformation in the world.  E-mail contact

Robert J. McMahon is Nurses for the Nations humanitarian consultant, advocate and supporter of Nurses for the Nations. Bob started out in his early career as manager of a food and beverage business. Over the last twenty years, Robert has been in lead roles as production supervisor in the field of manufacturing and CNC programming.  His years of service has prepared him with strong organizational people skills and a strong work ethic to serve those less fortunate. Robert attended Western Connecticut State University, Tunxis Community College and Manchester College for courses to advance his career. In addition, he has worked with diverse groups of people and performed service work with multiple support organizations across the country. Robert has volunteered his time to self-help groups, and participated in social community organizations. He has assisted mission shipments to Haiti and donated his time to help the Rotary club with shipments of hospital supplies to foreign countries. E-mail contact    

John Matthews CPA, CFE  is Chief Operating Officer of Nurses for the Nations Board of Directors. John is from Savannah, Georgia and has a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in accounting from Armstrong Atlantic State College (now Armstrong Atlantic State University). Mr. Matthews is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Fraud Examiner and managing partner of Deemer, Dana and Froehle in Savannah, Georgia. John has years of accounting and consultancy experience and brings extensive knowledge and expertise from his field to his professional appointment. He is a member of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA) and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). His civic involvement includes past President of the Rotary Club in East Savannah, former member of the Chatham County School Board, present board member of ‘Savannah Communities in Schools’ and prior board member for the Savannah Chamber of Commerce. John is a deacon at SCC (Savannah Christian Church) and will be working with Church outreach and N4N’s transformational model of care, in addition to assisting with Phase II of N4N’s project to establish malaria-free zones in Liberia. He will be coordinating and directing Phase III of Nurses for the Nations project to erect a Malaria Life-Treatment Center in West Africa and is presently involved in helping launch N4N’s Grace clinic in Liberia. Administrative Support

Nancy Kowolik is Nurses for the Nations Administrative Secretary. Nancy is a graduate of York University in Toronto, Canada with a Bachelor of Arts degree in French and a Bachelor of Education in primary and secondary education. She has been active with volunteer work most of her adult life working with youth, young mothers and church and faith based affairs. Nancy brings her administrative and organizational skills and talents to Nurses for the Nations. E-mail contact

Our Board of Directors

Amber Fordham RN MPH, BSN is Nurses for the Nations newest Board of Director.  She has over ten years in active nursing and has been involved in international mission work early on in her career. Amber is pursuing a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center with anticipated graduation in 2012. She has served in Haiti, Mexico, New Orleans and most recently, Olongopoin the Philippines with work outreach to victims of sex-trafficking. Victoria Agyekum RN MSN is Nurses for the Nations Board of Director for International Village Training Programs. Victoria has her Masters Degree in nursing from the Medical College of Georgia and brings to the Board over 25 years of significant contributions to patient care. She is President of Dominion Health Care Solutions, is a nursing text book reviewer and has won numerous awards in nursing including the Health Occupations Education Association Leadership Award  and Outstanding Clinical Instructor award. She has traveled to Ghana, and Nigeria, where she has worked extensively with villagers;  providing teaching and training on a variety of health issues. She will be coordinating along with the team, the village teaching and training program for the villagers in Liberia, Africa for N4N’s program. Elizabeth Hines RN, MSN, NP is a member of the Board of Director for the region of India for Nurses for the Nations and has extensive nursing and mission outreach experience: staying active in national and international mission work  for over a decade. Her love for mission work brought her to  the continent of Africa in Tanzania. It was there that Beth knew her future in nursing was imminent.  Since that time, Beth has been involved in health and spiritual mission work in Grenada, Mexico, Guatamala and as a volunteer as mission coordinator and planner for her Church mission outreach program. Beth has her Bachelor of Science Degree from Wheaton College, her Bachelor of Science (in nursing) from Rush University and her Master of Science Degree from Indiana University along with her Nurse Practitioner certification. She presently works as a Family Nurse Practitioner in Family Medicine and remains active in Church affairs with her husband and three children. E-mail contact

Kwani (Nina) Petrarca RN BSN, BS  is Board of Director for Nurses for the Nations (International) Service Field Team Operations in Guatemala. Nina is in the Army Nurse Corps with over ten (10) years experience as a Registered Nurse. She has trained licensed medical professionals to provide health services for nuclear, biological and (NBC) casualties. In addition, she has served as the S-2 for the combat support hospital commander in preparation for worldwide deployment into hostile areas. Nina has over 25 years experience in the US Military, has served for nine years in the US Marine Corps, eight years in the Air National Guard and the US Army. Under the Infantry Battalion serving the 10thMountain Division, Nina was responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care for wounded warriors and providing patient and family teaching for transitional care and processes. She is certified in chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear explosives as a (CBRNE) clinician as well as in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support. Aside to her ‘nursing’ expertise, Nina is employed as a systems engineer at Lockheed Martin, working to ensure logical and systematic conversion of customer and product requirements into total systems solutions. Nina has traveled to Guatemala,  joined with our Board of Advisor, to assess, work and serve among the Mayan people in one of the poorest area’s of Guatemala, San Pablo.  E-mail contact
